I earned my MPhil and PhD degrees from the University of Cambridge at King’s College. During my PhD, under the supervision of Michael Bate, I elucidated mechanisms of motor circuit assembly and investigated the molecular foundations of activity-dependent processes in dendritic development. I subsequently pursued an EMBO fellowship in Switzerland in the laboratory of Silvia Arber, where I worked on the development of novel viral techniques for the visualization and manipulation of neural circuits, contributing to the understanding of the organizational principles of spinal networks controlling locomotion.
Since 2014 I am an MRC Investigator at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge. My research focuses on deciphering the circuitry underlying goal directed actions and exploring the links between motor function and cognitive control. I am also a Fellow and Director of Studies for Natural Sciences at King's College, Cambridge.
I was awarded an ERC Starting Grant in 2015, followed by an ERC Consolidator Grant in 2021.
